First one out the gate and I for one am thrilled!
Maria and I got together on a chilly December afternoon to make these effortless, yet elegant earrings. All that was required was a quick stop to our local Value Village where we found a vintage doily which became the backbone of this piece. By examining the lace, we picked out the shape we wanted to utilize and carefully cut it out. Once satisfied, we submerged the shapes into cups of hot water mixed with white glue (roughly a 2:1 ratio). Soaking them thoroughly and squeezing out the excess we dried them out on cardboard covered in wax paper (highly recommended as the glue was still potent). I was in a bit of rush as I had to hurry off to work, so we used hairdryers to speed up the drying process. Back at the ranch, I affixed earring hooks via pliers and delicately sewed beads into the lace giving it that antique look. Voila! There you have it, super luxe & long lace earrings to adorn my long dark tresses.
